Mexican Chocolatein

Inspired by authentic Mexican hot chocolate, this recipe utilizes chocolate flavored protein powder for a lower fat content. Replace nonfat milk with water for a reduced calorie version.

Yields: 1 Cup


1 cup of nonfat milk 1 serving scoop of chocolate flavored protein powder of your choice 1 tsp. of vanilla extract ¼ tsp. of cinnamon powder 1/16 tsp. of ground cayenne pepper (optional)


In a small pot, warm 1 cup of nonfat milk for 5 minutes or until simmering (make sure not to scorch the milk). Lower the heat. Add cinnamon powder, vanilla extract, ground cayenne pepper, and chocolate whey protein powder. Mix well. Cook the mixture for one minute. Remove from heat and transfer to a cup.
