Apple Cider

Impress your guests with this simple homemade apple cider. You will be surprised on how delightful the aroma of cinnamon, star anise, allspice, and apple surrounds your kitchen.

Yields: 4 Servings


6 whole gala apples, washed and sliced 1 cinnamon stick ½ star anise 3 whole allspice, crushed 6 cups of water


Combine all the ingredients in a medium sized pot. Bring to a boil. Stir occasionally. Simmer covered over low heat for 2 hours. Turn off heat. Discard the spices. Puree the apple water mixture. Strain through a cheesecloth for a clearer cider. Serve warm or chilled.
