What is Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty?

The Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), also known as the accordion procedure or scar-less sleeve as no abdominal incisions are made. Done endoscopically (through the mouth) and is non-surgical and is reversible. It works by suturing your stomach from the inside in a shape of a sleeve to reduce the size of the stomach by about 70%. Since the size of the stomach becomes smaller, less food can occupy the stomach meaning that patients will feel full faster.
